Max Hug Williams has worked in Documentary film making for over two decades, as camera operator, producer and on screen talent across high profile landmark series, singles and feature documentaries.

After completing a Zoology degree and MSc in Animal Behaviour, he spent several years working alongside award winning DOP Chris Openshaw honing his skills, before being selected for the prestigious BBC Natural History Unit camera-training bursary.

Since then, Max has filmed for the BBC, Netflix, Disney+ Nat Geo and Apple, TV with credits including Home, Big Beasts, Seven Worlds, Planet Earth 2, Frozen Planet, Wild Metropolis, Africa, Human Planet, Life in Colour, In the womb-Animal Babies and several other current projects under NDA.

Shooting both sync & natural history, he has experience across a range of camera formats and specialised kit, working in extreme environments from the Amazon to Africa to the Arctic.

Max has been nominated for numerous BAFTAs for Best Factual Photography and won a Primetime Emmy for outstanding Cinematography for Planet Earth 2 Islands, alongside several other festival nominations across his career.
